Paul Dahlquist, a Pacific Northwest photographer for more than 50 years, has created an enormous body of work including: portraits, cityscapes and nudes. This 1000 Threads documentary views Paul's photography as a way of life from which he has created a diverse community of friends. His passion is walking out his front door into the world. He searches for beautiful and complex faces and circumstances as well as shadows, puddles, bicycles and ordinary things. His portfolio of erotic photography illuminates the sensual and aesthetic joys of the human body. Paul has walked out the door in cities from Portland, Oregon, to Havana, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona and Turkey. The film follows Paul savoring a morning cup of coffee , developing film, walking the streets of Portland photographing people, enjoying Sunday brunch with friends, and shooting nudes on the banks of Sauvie Island. A broad variety of his photographs are interspersed throughout the video to show us the heart of his vision as a photographer.
