This film focuses on San Francisco artist Kurt Stoeckel . We view his abstract style, which carries over in his drawings, paper cutouts, mono prints or photos. We show his various processes and hear him talk about his philosophy of Art. Kurt uses a swivel X-acto blade to create paper cutouts and, ultimately, rubbings and mono-prints. We also see Kurt as a prolific photographer and how he uses his night photography as inspirations for his landscape paintings. He explains his selection of abstract shapes and forms through "what the eye sees", positive shapes, and "what the eye does not see," the negative space of a shape or form.
