AUDREY RAY DANIEL: VIDEOGRAPHER

Audrey Ray Daniel has worked for over 20 years in photography and video. She began working in video in the 1980s, documenting the rich and diverse performance-art culture in Los Angeles. She worked with many prominent performers, including Rachel Rosenthal, one of the mothers of contemporary performance art. She studied photography at Marylhurst College with Christopher Rauschenberg, who inspired her to further pursue documentary photography. Traveling to Istanbul, she created a still-photo documentary, "The Sephardic Women of Turkey," which was exhibited at the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley, California.
